Neil Saunders

Neil Saunders

Neil, has over the past 20 years, largely practised criminal law both as a prosecutor and a defence advocate. Neil’s initial introduction to the law was a school leaver employed by Eversheds in Birmingham, thereafter articled to Johnson & Co (now Martineau Johnson) again in Birmingham. Since then, Neil has practiced in Sheffield, Manchester, London and Powys, a cross section of disciplines including conveyancing, probate and local authority work. In the 1980’s Neil was asked to join the then new Crown Prosecution. After nearly 10 years as a Prosecutor Neil set up his own practice on 1st May 1997, which has metamorphosed into Saunders Goodin Riddleston. Neil is member of Duty Solicitor Scheme at police station and at Court. He is also a Higher Courts Advocate. Neil, rather takes to foreign travel, without the travel, - just being there is nice, and doing things.

Charles Riddleston

Charles Riddleston

Following qualification as a solicitor in 1982, Charles worked in both contentious and non-contentious areas of law, before specializing in criminal litigation for the last 20 years. He spent some years in London before returning to Suffolk and chairing the Ipswich and District Local Duty Solicitor Committee. Charles holds the Higher Rights of Audience (Criminal) qualification and is a Higher Courts Advocate. Until recently he was on the national committee of the Criminal Law Solicitors’ Association.

Roger Thompson

Roger Thomson

A Partner specializing in criminal law, who qualified locally, who previously was a personal injury specialist. Roger is part of the duty solicitor scheme for the police station and at Court and a member of the Legal Services Commission Review Committee. He is also is a Higher Courts Advocate. Roger is Partner in charge of Personnel.

Ian Duckworth

Ian Duckworth

Ian was admitted on 1st April 1977 and he has been a duty solicitor since the implementation of the scheme under the Police and Evidence Act 1984. Ian is also a Higher Courts Advocate.
Ian’s hobbies are golf, handicap 10 and sadly rising, bridge and tennis. He also enjoys fine wine. Ian is married with two sons aged 22 and 19 years and his wife is also a solicitor doing probate work locally with another firm.
